I have a similar (in some ways, the same) question. I have recently bought the 2 and 3 channel toy RC heli's (havoc and reflex from airhogs: the reflex is crap, the havoc is fun for what it is) and i have caught the RC heli bug. I am looking to throw down some money on a sim, and am looking for two things, the most realistic physics, and preferably an all in one pakage containing and adequate transmitter for real heli flying. I am under the impression that a 4 channel Tx is not enough for heli flying, is this true? If it is not true than I am looking to possibly buy the E-sky cheapy simulator just for the Tx (a 4 channel USB controller) and then a copy of either phoenix, or reflex xtr. Is this a viable option? Is going with something like real flight G3.5 or G4 with the transmitter a better option? I am worried after some internet scouring that the Real flight versions are not very good heli simulators which is my main focus for the sim. Another option is possibly picking up an analog game pad with two thumb sticks from best buy or something and then using the other buttons, but then i only have two analog controls but a bunch of toggle switches. Is this a viable option? What are your opinions? Thanks for the feed back.

If this is one of those ever repeated questions please direct us to a the pertinant posts. I have looked with little luck for the answers to these questions. I have basicaly foudn that XTR is the way to go with a sim, but with no controller and having to buy a 6 ch is way over budget.

there are quite a few comparisons between RF, reflex, phoenix and FSone in the phoenix thread.

I am wondering a lot about the controls. Is there a good controller that is relatively cheap to get if I decide to go with one of the more top end, remoteless options?
