i got a realflight g3 but the sim requires a usb trainer controller radio that usually comes with the sim(which i dont have). So has anybody just tried plugging a trainer cord to you actual transmitter to the sim and made it work??
maybe someone has a trainer radio that they dont need. pm me and lets work something out.

I seriously doubt you will get that sim to work without the usb Interlink controller that RealFlight provides in the package when you buy it. If you can crack their copy protection scheme, more power to ya... It's probably possible, but you would have to either really know how to modify some low-level code or sift though a lot of virus-laden websites trying to find a download.
Every legitimate copy of RealFlight comes with the usb controller. It's a very good investment as a training tool. I know the price is not low compared to other "games," but really, this is much more than a game. It will save at least double its cost in parts that you don't have to buy later on.
Spidious is right though- this question should be in the sim section.

The controller matches the sim disk. Good Luck.

Since G4 is out now, you can probably find a good deal on G3. I imagine a lot of G4 upgraders will be looking to unload it, like I recently did. Be cautious if it's too good of a deal though. Make sure you get original installation cd's with the matching controller with legitimate serial numbers.

i already have a g3 but i need to figure out how to make the tx connect to the sim. i did find a link to a usb adapter which should be able to work.

In my experience, you Cannot use Any tx that is not used through the G3 controller.
I'm a registered owner of G3.5 and after 4 months my Interlink controller broke a spring pin. I sent it back and received a new one. Then 3 months later the new one broke. :( By now I'm out of warrenty so I tried all kinds of options and cables to use my DX7 without the controller, No luck unless you have the Interlink controller hooked up. The software won't even work without the G3 controller.
I finally settled to using my DX7 thru the Interlink. Even better, Now I can program Expo. :) The bad thing is not having the flaps knob or a few other things.
If you can make it work without the Interlink controller, More power to you. Better just to buy it all new.
I did manage to get my Interlink back working, I bought a broken one on eBay that had the parts I needed to fix mine.

thats the problem. they dont want to sell the seperatly? why? i dont know but ebay doesnt have any. i would have to find a broken one and maybe try to fix it or something. i know that you can buy one online but its an esky controller with the usb connector.

They don't sell them separately and never have, because the controller/interface is in effect the software/copy protection. It's easy to steal/copy/rip off the software/disc.....but it doesn't do much good because the software is no use without the right hardware (as you're finding out).
If you paid good money for the software without the Interlink controller/interface you were swindled. OTOH if you just illegally copied the software from somewhere......

i did send them an email and i told them that i need a controller. they told me that it isnt worth selling the controller individually and if they did they would loose much money because it wouldn't be worth as much.
