I tried this at foamies scratch built without much input.
My thought is that if I paint my beaded white foam with polycrylic, the Solite will stick better to the glossy smooth surface and will allow me to get it wrinkle free. I can get better adhesion and no wrinkles at higher temps. but then the beads of foam expand and make the plane look like a basketball. My planes are small so econokote and Ultra are too heavy and cause excessive warps.
Do you think painting with poly before covering will give me a better finish on this type of foam?
