Think Boeing got the COA for the HPD? Seems interesting that Channel 2 contacted the FAA and they stated "no restrictions" in the area. Last time I checked, the had a thing called a NOTAM......

I wonder how they obtained their COA.

that was a funny story. I'm not sure how spending $1 million on one of these beats having 5 more cops available.

I guess they will have to enroll these drones into the Police Union or there will be ructions! More seriously, how come the Police can, we can't? Maybe they told the FAA, "Look the other way whilst we fly this thing or we guantee you a parking ticket a day for the rest of your life!"

Mac, the FAA has been hammering police forces worst of all. In fact, I think the whole crackdown may have started with the famous L.A. County Sheriff department fiasco (executive summary: called a press event, crashed 30k plane in front of press). There have been numerous police organizations that have gotten cease and desist orders from the FAA. And as a citizen that doesn't like aircraft parts falling through the roof of my house, I approve.

Mac, the FAA has been hammering police forces worst of all. ....Could you share your data on this. You've got the L.A. police force and there's the police force in N.C. That's two. Is this the extent of the hammered police forces? If you can support the 'hammered police forceS' (worse than anyone else) I will share a police force where the FAA has apparently told them, 'don't worry about it, we didn't mean to shut you guys down'.

You get that in writing...... then get it to me! I have some power that is just WAITING for that one to happen!

I saw a blurb on TV the other night. Something like, "South Florida my use unmanned aerial vehicles for security...News at 11." It was WPLG, an ABC affiliate. However, I was working and missed the segement, but in the blurb they showed a picture that looked like the Houston PD flight. Did anyone else see or hear anything on TV?

You have a couple of police forces down there that are dabbling with UA. Cyberdefense (CyperBug) is a player there.
