I can't decide, go with a raptor 50 or T-Rex 600 Nitro. What do you think

If i were you, i would say go with the Trex 600N.. In terms of looks and weight, the Trex wins the Raptor.. But i love the Raptor too! :D Its just that if you have a deeper pocket, then go with the Trex..

For a new pilot, either will work fine.

Replacement parts for both are cheap.

Both have a variety of aftermarket upgrades available.

The 600N is better looking but that's a matter of opinion.

I have the manual for the 600N and the Raptor Titan, and IMO the Raptor's instruction manual is better. But you also have finless' vids which offset that.

It's a wash unless you're a mini Szabo/Youngblood/Watts/Krause, pick one.

You might add the Knight to your list. The Sports are quite inexpensive. I am flying the Pro and the 3D. The Pro is as easy or easier than the Raptor (I have one of those too) and handles better (easier, smoother, etc.).

Choose the one which your LHS stocks the spares for ;) Of course you can get any and all from the internet...if you don't mind waiting a couple of days or more for shipping. Try and find someone local to you who can help with the setup process, seeing as this is your first heli. Take baby steps whilst learning to fly the real thing - your sim practice should have helped greatly in this respect!

The Knight is a newer heli design, and the prices are very good compared to a Raptor 50 in the UK.

Oh, what radio gear and gyro do you intend using - there are many and varied opinions on those items also :)

Tach.

My local LHS stocks both so thats not a problem. As far as a radio, I got a JR 7202 Heli version. And I don't know what gyro to use. What do you think?

I had a Raptor 50v2. I don't like the fact that you have to have 1 servo to drive the pitch alone.

I like the T-Rex 600N because it has eCCPM mixing where all 3 cyclic servos work the pitch.

The T-Rex is so much more responsive than the Raptor. I took a long 1 and a half break from flying helis and I just got back into flying. I currently fly the TRex 600N Pro and it was night and day flying it.

You will pay a little more for the TRex 600N kit, engine, and blades, but you get one heck of a heli. The Raptor comes with a set of woodies, carbons, and the TT50 engine. The TT engine is fine for basic flying and hovering.

I'd say go for the TRex if you have the cash. The heli is more of a updated design.
