Ir Noob questions

On a IR setup, the ir receiver (ir sensor) is calibrated for the transmitter or is the actual whole receiver doing this? I recently received a trashed Avion missing the ir sensor on the receiver board. Wondering if the Picoo Z ir sensor would work with the Avion transmitter or would I be using the Picco transmitter. I'm wanting to solder a Picco Z sensor onto the Avion receiver board. :eek: Thanks for any and all inputs.

There are different modulation frequencies that they use, but in the 38-40kHz range they are sufficiently broad so as to see one another, at least on the bench.

Andy thats confirmed, soldered up the Picco Z sensor and everything working. As far as distance I made it over 30' (in the house) and its a working.
