I am under current training with G3.5 and my Honeybee CP2, but last week i decided to get better equiped and got a TRex 450SA ARF kit, that i intend to build but wait until i have more experience to fly.

I got a Futaba T6EX TX and JR DS miniservos (JRPF300H kit), the motor and ESC came with the kit. Now i did all the assembly per the instructions, the problem i have now is if i connect like recommended ESC to channel 3 and the pitch servo to channel 6, i get RPM on the motor but absolutely no servo movement from channel 6. When the motor is disconnected, the throttle stick movement does absolutely nothing to my pitch linkage!?! Can i have done something wrong or the recommended setup is wrong?

Also, is it normal that i get a mini spark on the positive lead each time i connect my battery to the ESC? I have the feeling it's not, but i see nothing wrong physically, the welds are well done and insulated...???

Thanks for any advice, this thing has a lot more to its setup than the planes i've build years ago!!!

Sparks are normal.

Make sure you have the swashplate type set to SR3 S3 or whatever that radio calls it but it will have a 3 in it.

Okay now that all my TX programming is done CORRECTLY!, i execute my control tests and my problem seems to be between aileron and pitch being inverted. I checked my receiver connection, as in both the Futaba and Align manuals i am setup like following:

ch1 aileron
ch2 elevator
ch3 ESC (reversed)
ch4 Gyro
ch5 Gyro sens.
ch6 pitch

My throttle stick is doing aileron work and vice versa.... All that in 120deg. CCPM.

What is wrong????

There's a guide in that review that should tell you how to do it.

I am a little confused to how your throttle plays in the picture, but when I was setting up my SA everything was right, everything went up and down together and elevator worked correctly BUT aileron was reversed. So, after thinking about it for a while I just switched the servos on the RX and never looked back. HTH. -J
