If you pull more than 10A it may blow the internal fuse (if it has one) or cook the meter if high current is maintained for more than a few seconds.

Current won't be 'limited' to 10A, but it will be less than normal due to the shunt resistance (>10 millOhms) and probably much higher resistance if you use the supplied test leads!
