Ok a few things about the AXE CP. I have quickly found out tail motors are not the best thing to have. This tail motor goes out alot. I was on my second hovering go and the tail motor just went out? The blades just stop spinning. I checked all of the solder connections and resoldered to make sure and yep this little guy is dead.

My question is I was looking at doing the freestyle hobbies belt conversion. I need to get a gyro (thinking the gy240) an esc (going brushless and lipo since i am having to get one) and servo (HS56 no big deal here).

My question is since i am putting the money into this Heli at this time i really dont want to replace the radio at this time. There is going to be enough cost with all the conversions and batteries etc.

Is this possible to do all this with out getting a new radio?

And hind sight being what it is I probably would have selected a different heli. I should have spent the money on a T-Rex but cant change that now.

I am assuming with all of these mods it should be a steady and solid heli. Not saying i am going to go nuts and do tons of loops or inverted hovering etc. Just looking for a solid and STEADY heli.

Shopping list

Freestyle Hobbies Belt conversion for AXE CP
Futaba GY240
HS-56 servo
Eflight Park 370 Brushless Motor with 10t gear
HobbyWing Pentium Brushless ESC 25A
Vislero 3-cell 20C 1300 Lipo

any comments to the list above or things i should use instead? And with this setup should i still be able to use my stock rx/tx for this?

Currently my heli is not flyable because of a bad tail motor again:( going to have to gather stuff up to just fix it instead of throwing money at the motors on the tail.

I want to keep it so i can fly 3d at some point. Should i look at a different motor maybe?

The stock radio will work fine. You will have to get your fingers used to the power of the brushless setup.

All you have to do to, if you want to use a computer radio, is program one :D I programed my Axe CP into my computer radio and it works fine.

Can you give me a link to that belt conversion there? I would like to get that for my Axe.

If your tailrotor motor is going out, then it has to be something to do with your mixer board. Try to buy a new one, and see if that works. From what people have been saying on here, the Axe is not going to be as 3D capable as the T-rex and others. The T-rex is your best choice if you really want to learn/do 3D aerobatics. Basically, just get a T-rex, after you have "flown the blades off of the Axe". It's just soo much better. If you really want to go 3D, then you will have to ask and see what the 3D pros say, or hope one of them will come across this forum and answer your question.
