This is a great model and a LOT of fun to fly. I discovered it on your site yesterday, downloaded it and played with it for a couple hours.

Is there an easy way to add lights to the outrunner version so we can use it to fly it in the night scenes? I looked around in the model configuration and couldn't find anything referring to lights. :(

Thanks again for a great flying model. It certainly makes me think more about getting a Slow Stick X. :)

Hi Shawn, thanks for trying my SSX. I will look into adding lights. I am sure there is away. In addition, if you are interested in night flying and would like to build an SSX with lights, I have uncovered wing kits (ARC) that guys are using for night flyers. You can install the lights on the inside of the wing and cover it with transparent ultracote.

Thank You for you interest in the SSX

Thanks for the info guys. I really wouldn't mind doing it myself (I'd forward my changes to back to you James) but don't have access to the 3DMax. Hopefully they have a free for personal use version available.

I appreciate the info on the SSX. I read the review of the Micro SSX in Quiet Flyer and though it was interesting but I think the full sized version is more my "speed".

Thanks!
Shawn

Here's a ghetto approach:

I exported my colorscheme, then opened the whateveryousaveditas.colorscheme and then changed:

GlowEnabled=No

To

GlowEnabled=Yes

Now the glow isn't fancy and realistic like the models built into G3; it's better!! The entire plane glows like a... well, it just glows really brightly.

Give it a try - you might like it.

Thanks I will try that.

Note that when you do this it glows in both day and night settings - not just at night.

Basically what this does is create a seperate "night colorscheme" just for night flying. I know it's not realistic but it is easier to see and required that you type only a few keys.
