I have seen the Kenyon gyros that is popular on larger AP helicopters.
http://www.ken-lab.com/stabilizers.html
They consist of two flywheels rotating in opposite directions, to cancel precession.
I was thinking if it would be possible to make a smaller unit that could be used with light equipment, say up to one pound?
Ideas so far:
Two small high Kv inrunners maybe running from the same ESC, Astro flight servo tester
3cell lipo pack. Sizeing the flywheels might be subject to some testing.
Gyroscopical calculations: http://www.gyroscopes.org/math.asp
System weight: as low as possible.
Please comment, or maybe it has been done before?
Regards
Lars
