direct wont loop

i have a direct 280 which i modified to take a surplus lithium pack that is 25 grams lighter than the stock 7 cell720nimh. the problem is that it wont loop. it appears that the control surfaces stall at max throw.

the manual says to place the CG between 41 to 49mm from the leading edge. i have tried 44 and 46 but nothing has changed.

i would appreciate advice on the matter.

I can fly the plane but it wont loop or even stall on climb the best it can do is about a 15 to 17 degree climb. then the control surface kinda looses authority for more up attitude.

my question is, is this a far forward CG problem or

Try th CoG @ 49 mm. It does sound like you're nose heavy.

I'm making a WAG, but it sounds like your prop is stalling. The plane has to move out to keep up with the DD prop.
