General procedure for painting fiberglass over plywood

Can anyone give me some general guidelines for painting a plywood fuselage that has been covered with fiberglass/laminating epoxy? Just sand and paint? I'm using enamel from a spray can.

Clean the glass with denatured alcohol. Sand. Clean again. Prime. Then paint.
