Hopefully someone out there can help a bit with this. Just got a 450SA finished with the fusuno Airwolf w/retracts finished. I went with the recommended pinion and just switched the ESC to Heli, that was it. 13t Pinion was recommended for the SA so tried that. I was expecting maybe some minor adjustments, BUT not quite that simple:
Motor, ESC both got DANG HOT!!! (edited but you get the point)
Battery was an older one that worked well but figured I would use it for test and IT GOT SO HOT IT SERIOUSLY BALLOONED!!!
I have now switched to the 11t pinion, my curves on the TX (DX7) are all just the normal set-up I read everywhere and used for my other 450 that I have been flying for some time now.
Is there anything else I should do besides the drop in pinion size to cool things off. I never have a problem with normal 3D set up helis, I have a HB King 2 and an HDX450, both fly just beautiful and make me look like a better pilot than I am, but this added 200g of a fuselage has got me lost and I dont want to toast anymore batteries trying to figure it out.
