Some of you are aware of my efforts to get a functional QuadCopter design. Thanks to help from those who responded from this web site, others, and months of work, I have 4 quads that are stable indoors and out.
They weigh 6-7 lbs and have a total thrust capacity of 14 lbs for 15 min, with a total no payload time of 20 min. Construction is carbon fiber and foam. I have attached video links for your review.

Great work! Do you have a site where you've documented your tech or otherwise laid a path that others can follow? I'd love to try my hand at one myself, but most of the work as you know is now in Germany and is both hard to understand and expensive.

What are your long term plans for this project?

Looking good Clarkst. Mind if I crosslink from my quadrokopter build thread in the Aerial Photography forum (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=716870)? Would also be very interested to see some more details on motors, ESCs, avionics, flight controler, software, build details of your frames, etc. I-m particularly impressed with your rotor enclosures. They do seem to increase noise levels a bit, but may also help further improve safety.

I assume you are following the Mikrokopter developments where a number of people now have reached UAVP status with GPS integration and short preprogrammed flights.

Thanks, and I would be happy to assist where I can.

Yes, I have one of the German treasures, still doesn’t fly.

Arthur, yes the prop guards provide a false sense of security. However, the 12 stitches I have in my hand tell me to put them on.
I am experimenting with rounded ( ) prop guards today, I expect they will change the noise level. 3 bladed props help, but I can only find them in wood which is less tolerant to contact with stationary objects, and the splintering is spectacular.
