Venom Night Ranger 3D is more or less same as Walkera 22E. Don't buy it! LOL
Buy Mini Titan or T-Rex. I am sure that there are other in between but with this you will have top of the range for 450 size helis and you don't need anything else. I was thinking in the similar way as you and at the end decided that everything else is wasting of money and this is the cheapest and the best option!
But this is 3D topic - questions like this you should post in Mini Helis forum...

The bigger the heli is the better. It is going to be more stable and you will learn more quickly.
Also, Walkera 22E is not good choice anyhow! LOL

T-rex 450 is the way to go. I have two of them and love them.
Don't worry about how hard it is, you can always adjust everything to your needs.
Plus, what's wrong with a challenge?

yes i understand that you like the blade 400, but my experience with the blade cp wasn't that good, if I were you, I would just save up a li'l more and get the trex. (BTW, if trex is too expensive, you can always get a trex clone:) ) also, a sim would help a lot.

i had a sim and my moms comp was to slow and i would of had to pay like 1000 or more to update it and i dunno wats a good trex clone thats llike RTF cuzz i dont wanna buy any parts and for the price of the 400 its worth it

My calculation was:
If I go with anything else in between I will:
A) spend money to Mini Titan (or T-Rex) in full PLUS that 'in-between' heli
B) will be learning on heli that is not as stable, as powerful and in other words as good as possible for beginner as these 'top of the range'
And... I was right! Plus - which sounds strange - parts for Mini Titan (I think same can be applied to T-Rex, kind of) are extremely cheap!!! Far cheaper then for Walkera 22E for instance!
(two main shafts for Mini T are cheaper then one for Walkera, etc...)
So, rethink it one more time. If you decide to go with Mini T or T-Rex - you do not have to splash money on the most expensive electronics as possible at the beginning and thus you can save loads. For instance if you go with HS65 for tail - you won't see the difference up until you decide to fly in the wind and do stall turns and even then difference won't be such that you will regret having 'spare' 65 laying when you replace it with some faster better digital servo. Almost similar goes for gyro (Logitec's one instead of 401), radio, etc...
I've heard that people were flying with very cheap E-Sky 704 HH gyro! For learning it will do the job...
And, stock Mini Titan with stock ESC/Motor is bargain and will do for you far better then anything else 'in-between'!
Think twice - it is worth considering going for one of these two!

clicky is correct, when I started w/ trex I got futaba S3107 on swash and S3110 on the tail, im just using a half decent radio too, 6EX. I would best try to avoid anything thats RTF, becuase many things that are packaged in as RTF are not decent. Just buy the appropriate combo that fits you...Besides, if your going without the sim you should get a more stable heli like Trex/MiniTitan... and be carfull. Heres something that could get you started, in this you can pick your combo http://www.helidirect.com/index.php?cPath=37 I also reccomend you get good tools and read the forums for genarral builds and fixes, have fun.

Both look decent! :)
Over time you will need another couple of batteries (at least) and that is going to work for you for at least 6 months if not much more! :)

I'm 13 aswell.
I don't have a T-rex because that cost FAR too much for me.
I have a nice little Honey Bee King 2... it's not the best thing out but hey, it's still a pretty good flier.
if you really want to spend big, then by all means buy a Rex or a Titan, but if you want to spend half that for an RTF heli then probably think about a carbon edition of a Belt CP by E-sky.
http://www.rchelicoptershop.com/catalog/ek1he015a-esky-beltcp-carbon-rtf-version-p-314.html
Full carbon, BL set up, Li-po, pretty fancy lookin' alu head and tail (so what if it's purple/pinkish). With the extra amount of money left over you could chuck the transmitter and gyro.

crashing a belt cp will be pretty costly.

Overseas shipping can be costly and is only worthwhile if the parts are really cheap.
Just like the T-Rex...parts are cheaper than they are for the Blade CP...and, I'd imagine, the 400 CP as well. Much better to save the money up front so parts are cheaper...even if it means waiting.
Flight time is what really counts, so having room to fly is #1, and parts availability is a REALLY close second.

How about this:
http://www.art-tech.cn/english/ArticleShow.asp?ArticleID=170
With full carbon blade kit, fiber canopy, upgraded skids it's about $410.. with the new art-tech transmitter. ;)
That would leave you with a lot of scratch left over for some li-po's or lots of part money. Plus, hdx and trex stuff fits it.

What kind of bad things lol? You haven't heard anything bad from me yet about it, but i will keep you posted as the fun continues.
The servos are the same that the falcon 3DSEs have used and others are using as replacements right now on the better upgraded HBK2 setups. The brushless is decent. The frame is great. Parts are abundant. Awesome control in the air. Transmitter is decent and run it with more than one bird.
It's very new in this upgraded complete carbon form with only a few birds like it in the country right now. Are these people that you are hearing bad things from pilots of $800+ birds that have never even flown this package or are they current owners of the upgraded shark 450 complete turn-key package that i'm talking about? Please let me know who is flying this upgraded carbon version and what bad things they are sayin'. I'd love to pick their brains on it. Thanks.

By all means Nic, get what you want. I was just trying to help after reading your first post and others in this thread by offering a 450 class option because you were talking about blade 400, cp etc. I didn't know by your posts that you were only looking to buy Align.
Art-Tech and ESKY are sister companies. I'm not a fan of any one company or product, just a fan of getting the most flight time and bang for my buck every time I shop.
