Hiya Commodore....

For a second there I thought you were the new lead singer in a Motown R&B vocal group but never mind.....

Congratuations on the promotion and on the club.... and if you ever feel like coming out here and starting one, do give me a yell, huh? We sure need a r/c yachting club around here.....

...we didn't have one here either...so I started one...go to the how to start a club thread...oh never mind...click on it here to get some really good info on how to start one:

It is going to be well worth the time and trouble that it took to get it started.

Organising a club with friends is easy. Having to resolve the occasionally bitter arguments that will inevitably occur when it grows is .... challenging.
Rule 1 The commodore's decision is correct and final;)

Congrads Hoghappy! We got our official blessing from AMYA last week. I believe we are club 258. Only one here in Nebraska. Had help from the great guys over in Iowa. Our club the Omaha R/C Boat Club was "born" a couple of months ago. Up to 5 members now. I stop in and check your site every now and then Hog. Still looks good!! Also followed your example and made myself a commodore. Take care.

Hey Commodore Larry...you've been working on your site...looks great! ;)

Congrats to you too!

I don't know why AMYA didn't add the link to our site too...I sent them another request yesterday...maybe it will be added the next goaround.

Is anybody else having trouble with the new floating menu on the site? For me it often moves around on different pages and sits right over text and photos...?? I am using IE 6 (latest version before V.7)

Thanks Doom! I use both IE and Firefox (mozilla). Just wondering if I was the only one having problems with the AMYA web site with IE6 and Sun Java...?

Since I run my own web site I do like to hear from the visitors, if there are any weird problems with it and browsers.

Hi Doom - Like you mentioned, with Firefox everything is fine. In fact the updated AMYA web site looks and works great in Firefox.

I was just asking about IE6 - still the most used browser on the web - and if any other IE6 users were experiencing similar problems with the "mysteriously moving menu" !!

I'm using 6.0 here at work, and the drop down menu starts out in center page, but after a second or two, it jumps tot he right margin of the page I am on.

At one time a few weeks ago (last week?) it stayed in the middle of the page.

Hey Dick - Sounds just like the fun I was having...!! :D I just checked again and the menu start on the right side, jumps to the middle, and then jumps back to the right side as the page finishes loading. All seems to function fine after all the dancing around. What fun...!!

I believe Philip is working to correct that. ;)

Ummmm - should be the "Left" side of the page in above posts, not the right side! - Port/starboard I understand, it's the left and right terminology that makes my life difficult! All that non-sailing terminology just makes my head hurt! :D

If still problems next week, drop a line to webmaster at AMYA to let him know it's still acting up. The more who respond will increase his awareness of the problem being widespread.

One other point for those testing webpages, reload the page completely before sending your comments to their webmaster. If your browser has an old cached html, stylesheet or something stored it may not display the current layout.

Reloading is usually F5 but some browsers require you to dig deeper to clear the cache sufficiently.

No wonder I get into so much trouble on the water...!! :D :D

I meant the other right hand side of course!!
