I am getting a Magnum .91 4 cycle for my Trainer. I am looking to use the Cool Power Fuel for this engine. Any comments on if this is good or bad? Anyone have any personal experience with this fuel?

Thanks,

Joel

CP is OK but I'd recommend Omega - either 10% or 15%.

FYI CP has 17% oil by volume and all of it is synthetic. Omega has 18% oil - 3% castor and 15% synthetic. The small amount of castor oil provides additional protection during lean(-ish) runs.

I agree with using a fuel that contains some castor.
In my opinion, an all synthetic fuel should only be used by an experienced engine tuner.

I have several of the Magnum 91 four strokes, they are good engines.
What trainer are you going to put it on ?
Do you have someone to help you learn to fly the plane ?

This is the specific fuel I am looking at. Its a 30 Caster/ 70 Synthetic blend on the oil side.

I just need to fine a 10% equivalent for break in.

I am putting the engine in a Hobbico Hobbistar 60.

The Wildcat would be my choice because of the lower castor content...

Morgan and Wildcat are the fuels of my choice.

I don't know where you guys are located but I think all of that fuel is expensive.
You might check here if you are interested in an alternative fuel source.

You're correct, but I don't purchase my fuel from tower.
Can't beat their product information. ;)

Fuel is expensive at Tower. They also charge additional $20 per case (4 gallons) "hazardous" shipping fee. I buy 10% Omega at the LHS for $13-$14 per gallon.

Thanks for that. Some guys don't have an LHS.
I normally get a couple of cases of WC 10/18 during the spring fuel sale at J&C hobbies (my LDHS LongDistanceHobbyShop) in Pittsburgh. $44 per case.

That's pretty good! My NSLHS (Not so local hobby shop, Venture Hobbies) Has Wildcat 10/18 for $13 a gallon. I haven't asked yet about a case price.
