They recommend this for their 85" wingpsan Yak 54 as well. Anybody have any good or bad experience with these?
The price seems good for a low priced servo setup...

Are they? i first saw them on their website over a month ago, i suppose that still makes them rather new.

Ben, any plans to try them on the new 85" Katana? make it truly new :D

I have a 75" plane from a RC shop that recently got sold ( you know which one) awaiting servos and i was thinking of going with these to keep the setup price low. if my LHS doesnt get their Hitec stock back in, i'll prob'ly go with these, but just not sure if i should experiment with a new product on a large bird..

Well, the 13mm size (HS81 replacement) ones are great. Only got two at this point, on a far-from-giant EDF F-16, but I really rate them. Very smooth, so if the bigger ones are anything like that, they'll be good. Of course, I can't comment on strength.

Anyone know how to convert the kg/cm specs to oz-in?

Divide by (0.028 kg/oz)*(2.54 cm/in) of course. That's 0.0711. Equivalently, multiply by 14.06.

after not finding much feedback on these servos and still finding my budget not big enough for quality digitals i bit the bullet and bought four of the DS20FMD's today. They recommend these for their 85" yak as well. I'm still using the 5955 i have for rudder though. I also bought the servo programming cable.

The hyperion website says this:
"Please try Hyperion ATLAS Digital, Programmable Servos; we think you'll like them...."

Lets hope i do  :o

I got the servos in the mail a few days ago and now they're installed on my Katana. The maiden is still a week or so away so i've only tested them on the ground.

First impressions:
The gear train is very quiet and sounds very smooth.
Centering is perfect, atleast on the ground.
Casing is very good quality and so is the supplied hardware.
They're programmable but i havent so far done any programming, i have downloaded the software though in case i need to.
They dont hum when they're powered on. Dunno what that means.

I'll post flight performance results as soon as i maiden the plane.

Have these servos in my Giles. Wondering if anyone has real-world feedback.

I can speak for the DS20FMD's after almost a year's use on my 75" Katana E-powered, they're excellent. Centering is top notch. They've developed a little slop now, but its not too bad. The replacement geartrain is available from Hyperion at a low cost.

I had gears strip on one in only a 69" yak, used in the elevator. Good servos though I'll get more.
