Guys,
I just purchased a V Tail Aegea Mantis from a club member and would like to hear any recommendations as to Cg, control throws, mixes etc. I will be using my Jr 9303 with it.
Any and all info to best set this plane up is welcome.
Also, should I run 4 or 5 cells on it. It has all Jr digitals - which ones I am not sure.
How long will a 800mAh pack last in the plane?
Thanks
Frank

I found the sheet on the Aegea wing in yahoogroups and it calls for a Cg at 4.25" and 20deg up 10 deg down aileron, 15deg flap and aileron on launch as well as the camber and reflex amounts
Anyone have deg. or measuements for v tail throw?
Also how much aileron to rudder mix do you have?
Any other mixes?
Thanks
Frank

You may find the info HERE (http://forums.flyesl.com/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=5)
I think there were two different V tails built - Not sure at this point. If you have the ones with small control surfaces [1-1.5" wide] then you want as much deflection as you can get. If you have the big surfaces then I do not know but someone here does.
Great Plane! If you do not have a reinforced wing just take it easy on the launches when the wind is blowing See THIS (http://forums.flyesl.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=145)

I flew a 2hr slope task with an original mantis with four nmih 700ma cells. My servoes were analog though - not digies. In general, I think four 800 ma nicad cells will work better than five nmih digies. (Four cells last longer and digies may overload the nmih cells.) I like the nicad cells best because I find them reliable and easier to maintain - but I use both. FWIW Regis

I measured mine and I have 3/8" up & down. I'd like a little more but that's all I can get the way it is set up.

Thanks Kerry. I really appreciate the feedback. I hope in the next week or two to give it a go and do some in air tuning.
Thanks again.
