hi, this probably sounds dumb to u guys cause im 12 years old but i have recently made a small boat dor my pool with the gear from a $20 3 inch long rc car. i have replace the magnetic actuator for a motor so i can steer without the throttle on as well as not having to overcome the water flow that straightens the rudder during forward motion.
Pics will be soon hopefully but if anybody has done this i would love to see some pics

Doesn't sound dumb to me, my first RC boat was made from a striped down RC car and a Tamiya kit.

Yosh, improvising is a lot of what we do around here. The clue is to learn from it and make it better. Seems to me you´re off to a good start and this hobby needs new blood (no we´re not vampires :) ). Looking forward to seeing your ideas at work and answering your questions I have answers for. Did a tutorial on how to install a motor and drive shaft for one of these little things once... ;)

Umi,
i thanks for the suggestions but at the size of model im building u need a gearbox or the prop will have to be very small to avoid burning out the motor. if the prop is small enough than the boat will be slow

might be ok for bath tub but wats the fun in a slow boat? plus there are water restrictions goin on is australia cause of drought and we have a pool so no need to make it go in bath tub
