I figured the kids could use a HP Pavilion Laptop in their room - looks like a
good deal http://www.yesitisfree.com/index.php?id=lapt0 Seems
worthwhile if they will actually ship a HP Pavilion Laptop - anyone else done
this before?

We had similar offers down here in Oz but the terms of getting a PC were onerous in the extreme because of the volume of marketing, purchases & obligatory surveys thrown at you over the net, without a no cost escape clause.
Maybe it's different over there but I'd advise having a close look at the terms & conditions plus try and find somebody who has participated. Good luck.

Those offers always seem unbelievable to me.

Nothing is ever 'free'.
This is usually a ploy to lure you into some marketing scam that nobody would touch if they were up front with their intentions.
Be vary wary, and decide if the hoops you will eventually have to jump through will be worth it...and even then, you may not end up with the laptop because of some loophole, but your name and information on everyone's promotion list, etc....

HP laptops are garbage. Trust me. My dad has a Compaq one (made by HP) and it's never been right. If you want a decent laptop, go with Dell or Apple.
And yes, avoid these "free" offers. If it's too good to be true, it probably is. I would expect the computer is loaded with adware or something along those lines, or you'll be forced to take all these consumer surveys to get it. If you want a laptop, buy it. If you can't afford one, don't buy it. Simple as that.

If you do go ahead with this, at least get some good spam protection, nail your letter box shut, and turn your mobile (cell) phone to silent. You will never get a break once you enter on to the slippery slope of a marketing scam!
