Hello,
I would like to get my hands on some plans drawn up by Glynn Guest. I am new to the hobby and from what i have seen these plans are pretty easy to build and look good.
PM me if you have some that you are willing to let go.
I know you can buy them from a place in England but they dont come cheap unfortunatley.
Hope someone can help me out
Thanks

Thanks guys for the help,
To be brutally honest i wouldnt have a clue as to what plans are available from Glynn, but i have found a website on myhobbystore.co.uk with a few of his designs. They do look great!
Im mainly looking towards the warship side of things but i am open to really anything as i am pretty green in this side of the hobby. I have had a bit of experience with the aviation side of things though.
Im really excited now that i know that a group meet in Ellenbrook. I will be making an effort to get around and have a look and talk to a few people, thats for sure.
The last thing i want to be is a pain, but would it be possible to list some of the plans you do have?
Thanks
Ace

Just a few that might fit the bill..
Scale Ship Modeller 1981 Official Navy Plans PT-109 (not an easy beginning for novice)
Model Boats Nov 2001 USS Hanley (Gearing Class Destroyer)
Model Boats Jan 1996 ATCH (Armoured Troop Carrier Helicopter)
I'll have to rummage through the Mags & see what I can find..

Waboats; are you pushing the man towards an armoured Springer ? Couldnt go wrong there as it isn`t a fragile balsa construction like some of the other suggested ones. Of course I`m slightly biased as they are the only model boats I`m ever likely to build (apart from the other one of course). There is another military one from Oz too somewhere in the Springer pages. BTW I was out surfing again today but the water was a bit tame :(

Have to say the Springer is probably the Best First Boat to build ever.
So easy to construct, Lots of Room for Big Hands, So much variety.. Lots of Information, Build to your skills.. Oh Yes & STRONG
An ATCH Springer. ;) . Hmmm.. Now that would be something... ;)
It's on the cards after the 75 Sprivette.. The MG was just a tad too Small & too heavy for a scaled Springer.. Same Theme though.. :o
Your bow wave looks a lot like the one from my stern last week.. Got to learn to slow down..
Keep the photos coming.. What's that shadow off to your right... Beasty Perhaps?? :D I've started downloading the best.. 605 to date..

There you go Ace, Waboats and you can have the first Western Oz Springer Footy Team ! You can see some action on Youtube ,go to posts #2324 and #2330 here on the Springer forum, there are more on the menu below the main clip. Re your PM I`ve got stacks of the UK magazines with free plans that I can dig out for you but if you dont know what you are looking for....build a Springer. Dont forget above the waterline it can be any shape you like, some local workboat perhaps ? All of my fleet are built on a minimalist budget, all recycled wood or foam, just the running gear purchased. Go Springer..or did i make that point before  ?

Waboats , that shadow is the Loch kelpie...we dont advertise it`s presence because there would be hoards of camera toting "towerists" spoiling the launching area  We send them to another more famous Loch a bit further north. Notice the foliage turning autumnal in the pic.... brrrrr, already a nasty nip in the air. Soon be winter :D

Twin Cylinder Diesel.. Worked a Treat in the Navigation Comp last week, Bluffed & distracted the judge.. Ran 3rd.. First time I've run a course in 3 or 4 years..
I still say build em simple.. Can always add as you go along.. Do that with most of my boats.. Lights Always..
Ellenbrook.. Always try to take the camera.. On our Good Days we seem to attract a few people..
Have to say the ATCH is really itching away.. Thanks ACE.. would never have thought about it until I seen the Plan in the Mag.. Now where is that Old Chopper.. :D

Waboats, good idea the sound, I was thinking about the car Springer but it would deaden the sound of my ill-fitting motor and u-joints ! That is a very nice pond you have to sail in. Ghost, I`m going to post a Youtube movie of the "Springberry" in heavy seas. Full throttle into, across and with the waves, very Charlie Chaplin like. Dont know how to do slo-mo which might make it more realistic. The toboggan shape of the Springers helps to ride the big waves. Shipped an eggcupfull of water. :( Any of the breed in Stoke area yet ?

Hey,
After having a look through the Springer thread, im going to have to build one. Simoke as that, looks like great fun.
The ATCH is exactly the sort of thing im after, anything military.
Springer footy looks like a good time, i syill have a heap of questions about boating in general. Springers are a good place to start.

Good to know that Alex enjoyed himself, Waboats. Ace has a PM and a Glynn Guest `Nam Monitor plan waiting at the post office here to post ! Is that a Caledonian-McBrayne Springer between the Dickie Tug and the paddler? I see she has a footy number hoisted.

Hey,
I had a great time today, very relaxing. Great bunch of people makes it a whole lot better.
I was also impressed by some of the models that came out, not quite sure what type they are but they looked awsome. One model i recognised straight away was the "stealth" Springer of waboats, in the blink of an eye it became a scale looking tug. Pretty manouverable as well. Looks like fun.
I now have a hoard of plans and mags to look through (thanks waboats for loaning them to me for a squiz) so i can now get building hopefully soon.
Have to hunt around for a esc, batteries etc to get a complete setup. Have to choose the model first though.
Will post some pics when i get them off my camera.
Cheers

Springer is just another one of my multi-use boats. The Superstructure is off my semi-scale Tug from a Richard Webb Plan (Jasmin Model Boats Oct 2003)
Seemed an easier thing to do than build a whole new Hull so I could have Two Springers.. :D
Dickie Tug is as always straight out of the Chop-Shop with Mods to allow it to be used as a Loan Boat.. ;)
Paddler is the Steam Tow PILAT.. Other Boats on the day, included a small tug, Fishing Trawler, & Boston Typhoon (nearing completion)..
Small turnout but a fun & relaxing day. :)
