I recently decided to buy a flight sim. Figured I would be able to practice a bit when mother nature failed to cooperate. I bought the FSone flight sim. Initially the price is a bit cheaper then the realflight sim. But I soon found out that FSone has only a fraction of the models that realflight has. While it is true that Realflight will "ding" you for every new expansion pack that they release, they have, in fact, released 5 expansion packs since the initial release of realflight 3.5, while FSone has release exactly NO expansion packs. Both companies released their software around the same time, but FSone hasn't released a single expansion while realflight has 5 expansion to their credit. The FSone flight sim is great, but part of the reason I bought it was to check out some of the flight characteristic of different models before I actually bought them. In this capacity FSone is extremely limited. I would be happy to trade off my copy of FSone for a copy of realflight 3.5.

The first FS One hangar pack is coming. Drop by the FS One display at the iHobbyExpo Oct 18-21.

Ditto!
A buddy of mine wanted to know what Flight Sim he should buy. He knows I have FSONE and instead of me recommending it to him I told him to stay away from FSONE for now. They are TOOOO SLOOW when it comes to creating more models to fly! I told him just go with G3.5 as they have MANY more models available.

FS One is by far the best sim for fixed wing aircraft! If your friend was into planes, you've gave him a poor advice, I'm afraid...
