Carrying on from this thread: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=652526

I decided to make a PCF2119 -> HD44780 translator to let us use all our "normal" LCDs instead of the I2C one they use..

Does anyone know if the PowerPanel displays any "special" characters? So far it works fine with A-Z and a-z, 0-9 but I'm wondering if MicroPower uses any of the PCF2119's own characters.

I'm not responsible for any damage this causes to your model or MicroPower etc etc, standard disclaimers apply.

That was pretty awesome! Was the audio generated by the same circuit driving the LCD?
