Vendors,
We are always on the look out for new products to review by our author team. These reviews are a great way for the user to find out about your product.
RCGroups.com online reviews allows you to spread the word about your new products and buyers are only a click away from visiting your site. You can also see exactly how many people have viewed your review (our reviews average over 5,000 reads each). Linking to our reviews is also a great option that really brings your product to life. An RCG review allows a potential buyer to see the actual build, look at pictures and watch videos of your product flying.
A few basics of how we manage reviews:
1) We select a reviewer for a project based upon their experience with this type of model, and their excitement for the project;
2) Except in rare special cases, the manufacturer provides the model and, in many cases, the power sytem they also sell to go with the model, so that it is reviewed in what the manuf considers the ideal configuration;
3) In general, we try to turn reviews in approximately 60 days for ARF models. MOST are done significantly faster than this. Sadly, a few take longer, and a rare few take much longer. We do our best to keep in contact with the reviewers and to keep projects moving along; however, our reviewers only pay is the aircraft they get to keep, so if life gets in their way now and again, we ask you to be patient and understanding.
4) A review is NOT a full page ad for your product. It is, rather, an honest assessment of the model by an experienced modeler. 99% of all reviews are mostly favorable, with a few suggestions, recommendations and notes of weak points. If a reviewer DOES encounter difficulties with the review model, we do our best to work with the manufacturer and, assuming changes are made, to then review the upgraded product that future customers will receive and make clear and favorable notes on the manufacturer's willingness to discuss and resolve any concerns.
5) We encourage our reviewers to build models exactly stock first, even if they've read discussion threads of problems or concerns, and only after such testing to try to experiment with other approaches to any problem areas. In cases of safety, such as potentially having too aft a CG, the modeler will try to test whatever htey feel is safest first and then work from there. Occasionally a modeler will make modifications the manufacturer doesn't feel was needed. Such situations will be discussed on a case by case basis.
6) We feel that accuracy is VERY important in our work. As such, we do our best to allow manufacturers the chance to provide us a technical accuracy check of the article. Now, before readers make any wrong assumptions, this does NOT mean that the manufacturers are given free rein to turn a review into a full page ad. Rather, it gives the manufacturer a chance to point out mistakes, misunderstandings, or changes they've made since the reviewers model was shipped.
7) Despite popular belief, we do NOT only do reviews on advertisers models. Reviews are unrelated to the advertising program, except in encouraging manuf's to time their advertising so reviews have the most effect. Of course, we encourage those who have had favorable reviews published here to purchase advertising as well to help increase their sales.
8) We reserve the final rights to editing decisions and to determine the publishability of an article. Again, please remember this is not a purchased full page ad, but rather intended to be an honest, accurate review of the product by an outside party. Our readers expect an impartial opinion, and this is what we strive to provide. Of course, you're proud of your quality product, and we're confident our author will be equally impressed and that your reviews will be favorable.
If you are interested in having a review done of your plane all you have do is send an email to Angela H. (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/sendmessage.php?do=mailmember&u=123645)
