I'm starting to gather components for a project which I expect will be pushing the 5-6 KW range. Most folks seem to be using the Spin 200 but the Power Jazz seems to have better ratings and is a bit less money. Any thought?

From pilots flying them up to 15s setups, i hear both perfrom very good, 2 main diffrens, the JAZZ have a cooling fan, so if you have little space and bad cooling fetures of the plane it has an advantage, the SPIN200 has the superb feture of looging and programing tru the JetiBOX, also its 200A continuos, i think the Power JAZZ is 200A max burst, so the Jeti is more powerfull.

Jocke,

You are correct. The Power Jazz is 120 cont/200 burst while the Spin 200 is 200 cont/220 burst. Big difference (no more surfing the web when I should be sleeping  ).

Thanks for the info

The Spin 200 also has a anti-spark connector, which is really nice. Does the Jazz have that feature?

You can add "anti spark" to any ESC by just wiring up a micro deans and a resistor. However, I have the Spin 200 in an electric scooter and it works flawlessly even in this VERY harsh environment. The only weird thing is that on a few occasions the programming became confused and it was trying to start the motor backwards. Not sure why that happened, but cycling the power fixed things. Also, the Spin is not glued shut like the Jazz. If something breaks on the Spin 200, it can be repaired (not that anything will break). You might try calling up Hobby Lobby and asking if they'll sell you the Spin for $315. They had that price for a while while competing with United Hobbies. But Jeti fixed that "problem" rather quickly. They might still give you the better price though.

P.S. The Spin also has a gorgeous CNC machined heatsink covering both sides.
