Hi everyone,

Though I have been into aeromodelling for several years, I am new to flying due to professional constraints. I am going to put my first flying set soon. I will most probably be purchasing a Futaba 6 channel r/c with OS 0.46inch3 double ball bearing series engine and Explorer series low wing aircraft. My guide, who is a very reputed person in the field in Mumbai, will train me initially.

I am more interested in electric models. I want to know whether the same servos and receiver set that I will use in the engine model can be used with electric models to which I will surely graduate in the future? If not, will the purpose be served by replacing some components only or will I have to purchase a entirely new r/c set? Can some one please answer my query.

HI Ameya,

I think the servos could be used in a few electric models. If you are planning to fly alfa models or small electric models most of them use micro or sub micro servos like the 9g servos. and yes the set up for electric is more expensive then the glow setup

For going in electric flying you will need Li - po Balancer Charger , Li - po batteries 2 - 3 minimum, ESC, Motor. Only your Radio will be common.

I hope this information would be helpful to you
