Hey Guys. It's been a while sense I last posted in the forums here. Last time I posted, I recieved help from a few members of this site with my UAV Design and Aerodynamics. So for a month or so, I retreated to my bedroom, and came up with my design. They helped a lot, but they just didn't know a lot about the electronics of these planes. So hopefully I get can get some help from you guys!

Okay so here's some details (Hopefully I'll get my CAD Drawings and some pictures up as soon as possible):

Plane Weight: 8.5 Pounds/ 102 Ounces
Fuselage Length: 54"
Wing Loading: 17.5 Pounds

Now the UAV's goal is to be able to fly upto 5 miles from it's starting point, and has to be able to send a video signal from two seperate video feeds at the same time back to my starting point. It's also designed to use an autopilot in order to maintain flight for a long time, upto 1.5 hours.

Now I'm not quite sure what to use for the control aspect of the plane. What would someone use as a microcontroller for a plane system that far away? Any ideas?

Look at the component links in the sticky at the top of this forum.

There are many autopilots to choose from. If you mean to control via a standard radio transmitter, do a search on JettPilot and he explains how he get's his long range using an antenna called a J-Pole.
