Reminds me of the Funky Chicken that Hobby Lobby had out. Hmmm.........
Looks like another contest on the way for the best dressed chicken. Will be looking for this one soon. Will have to add it to the farm flight squadron.
Looking for any testers? I'm in for this one!!!!

A flying pig is a no-brainer for good sales for obvious reasons. I know of a particular Israeli that would be chomping at the bit for one! :)

I deeply appreciate all of your comments. Your opinions are very valuable to us.
We had planned to have a show booth in the 2007 China Model Expo, Beijing, Oct 3~6, but unfortunately our whole schedule has been delayed for the investment difficulty. It seems not so enough time by Christmas. :(
Our next models are "Flying Chick" and "Flying Penguin". Duck and Ostrich are in line. The Flying Chick is a smaller, yellow version for kids with 2~3ch transmitter.
The main concept of our next series is "EGG". It will bring another quite different experience in the R/C aircraft field.
We are also planning to look for some testers in early 2008, and I will put you in for it of course.
Thanks.
I added the link for the modeling files for the flight simulator, FMS.
Please try it, and if you have any comments, please let us know.

One of our design staffs squeezed some concepts for other animals such as a pig, a cow..., but some animals seemed so heavy to fly. :p
At that time, she brought up with these pictures. :)

JC,
I would even put in for a "Flying Penguin" along with the Chicken. Things would be real hoot to have a banyard squadron.
Keep us posted. I am in for two of them.

tinkrerpilot I'm in Tacoma, talk about close to home here.......
Glad to see what I'm in store for along this venue, luckily it only takes a week or two to develop my own birds from nothing, pre release of the RC dragon has already begun. I even already have an RCG guy with a kit in route to his destination.
Build thread is at: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6315597/tm.htm
I'm posting a couple of photo's so you guys can see it without having to click the link. I also gotta post a link to another RC flying chicken: http://www.modelflight.com.au/rc_model_electric_planes/graupner_funky_chicken.htm now that's cool!!!
I wish you well on your's, it looks like a very good flyer and should make an excellent trainer.

I loaded the Flying Chicken into my copy of FMS. It is great. Very fun to fly and the "motor" sound is hilarious!

JC - just so you understand, there is a saying ... " ___ will happen when Pigs Fly" (or when pigs have wings) - meaning it will never happen
That is what all the reference to a pig-version is referencing

saucerguy,
Glad to distance is not relative. I am always looking for something a little different to fly outside of the normal stuff. Keeps the guys guessing what is coming next with me. Maybe a slow builder, but the end result is something that will fly pants off the rest of them. Are we having yet? The Dragon is real neat looking. How well does it fly? With the right colors and some led lights it would be awesome.
The Penguin idea would be for the girlfriend. She is into those. Likes the hobby and plays with the FMS sim. Wait till she flys the one she is building. Should be fun.

It fly's well, rather slow for my own personal tastes, but I built it not to be as much of a performance beast as for the shere novelty of the concept itself and I've only taken it up with cheap, now rather tired UH gear so haven't pushed the airframe very hard at all. I'm cutting up more as we speak, out of the run I'll have one left not spoken for I'll post in the RCG buy and sell section when the kit is ready to go. I've also been kitting out foam P40's and am designing a new biplane which will be added to my lines, the former is more in line with my own personal tastes performance wise to give you an idea as to where I'm coming from as a pilot. Going the route I am building these, ie. using a manual wire cutter and power tools, allows me to keep the production runs small and allows me to design and build more and get them to market quickly.
I also like the fact, I'm not going in debt with the equipment, nor do I have to commit a ton of resources towards having a specific volume of inventory, so it's less risky going that route and I'm not stressing over having to sell these at all. Alot of these guys get into this business and are in so deep, there is no enjoyment of the hobby itself at all. Also, back to the original subject, I'm wondering, in the case of the chicken, why it's not launching as an official line now, it looks like a winner of a design and I can't see any bugs that need to be worked out.

If you ever get the Flying Pig concept worked out, be sure to contact Wilma's Diner in Sonora, CA... their motif is flying pigs.. T-shirts, knicknacks, etc... I'm sure they'd love to have one that really DOES fly... (and they serve excellent breakfasts).

june8, I wish you success with your unique line of planes. I can't wait for you to get some in release. Please let us know when they're available. This is one of those planes that I really don't need, but don't think I can live without!!! :D Stuff like this is what makes electric planes so much fun. You just couldn't do this with a glo plane!!!

What Vantasstic said!!! Makes it all the better to have something a little different in the fleet.
saucerguy ,
Hard to say. They have all the stuff together from looking at the pictures, all the packaging seems to be in place.
Hey june8! How soon before we see these? Looks like they are ready to go.
We could have a chicken revival here. Hmmmmm.....Chicken combat, chicken limbo, or is that gumbo? Chicken racing. A one of contest? Lots of ideas here guys.

Cute, definetly high cute factor. Sounded a bit noisy with the prop so close to the TE of the wing. I think that is too noisy for a park flyer. Reminded me the sound of a zaggy...... You are not making any friends in the park this way. If you can move the prop back a bit , the noise will be less.

Oh... Many replies... Thanks a lot for all comments.
First, thank you very much, Vantasstic! If you didn't let me know the saying about the flying pig, I could never know it.
The pink flying pig looks so cute, Scalefreak~ Did it perform pretty well?
We have been doing our best to make the better quality and better performing products. This is almost ready to go, but there are some more things to be done. Investors want numbers... detailed market research. How big is this electric r/c airplane market? EPP or PS+PE? Actually, our mold is prepared for EPP. The difference between EPP mold and PS+PE mold is pressure and thickness.
Thanks, Brian. We are testing the prop distance effect. On the demo video, our test motor had a bearing broken. However, you are right. it is noisier than the tracter type.
The RTF set has a prop of 6X5. We have used it manufactured by other company, but its balance is not good. GWS prop is too thin and bends and makes a noise while spinning.
We are doing our best to bring it to market as soon as possible. Thanks for all your interest.

Here is the Chicken built locally by a scratch builder I ran into at RCU, it's really close to the design you are producing. He claims it as his own, perhaps great minds think alike "that or insanity is contagous", hehe :).

Happy to know somebody built it!
Perhaps he couldn't wait. :) She seems to have two mouths. looks somewhat weird...
I think he did not say it was his own design, and it doesn't seem for sales.
No problem at all.
It is hard to build due to its body shape, but his work looks pretty nice.
We began to develop this model in November 2006.

I guess he saw it back then and decided to bash out his own, they look eerily similar, but I can see the roughness on his, it looks to be hand bashed.
Along your's, what are you using to cut it up, wire cutter or cnc, or both? I've been getting good results with a wire cutter, and with the more complex shapes, I've broken them up into seperate smaller peices in order to get the dimensions correct. You might want to go that route with yours.
Along the flying pig, my ears are open guys, the more interest shown in it, the more likely I'll get one to market. It takes around a week or two to design and develop these new creations.
