Not sure what kind of application you had in mind, but I can't think of a single solder joint I've made in regards to RC that would work with a 6W iron (including servo wires, for which I use a fine-tip 25W iron)..

You can buy the same soldering iron at Home Depot under the Weller name for $14. Works okay in the field. Does get hot enough to make a decent connection on an Ultra Plug.

Nothing I'd go out of my way to buy though.

yeah , i bought the weller one and it will hardly melt solder.

Rather have a butane iron. At least it will get hot enough to melt solder. I don't think you could pop a balloon with that one.
