Hi Mike.
I posted this in the lift Zone and could not get an answer. Can you please ask Multiplex Germany about it and let us know. Thanks.
Cularis: On page 31 of the PDF file, in Figure Abb. 44 you can see the difference between the Glider and Electric version. What I am not sure of is the channel that you can see below the ailerons in the fuse. There is a black cylinder in the CAD drawing...could this be a lead ballast of sorts?? That is the only thing that comes to my little mind. http://www.multiplex-rc.de/cms/vorschau/upload/d_anleitungen/m_cularis_5sp.pdf
Edit: Corrected link.

It's the receiver battery. In the glider version the battery is up front as shown.
Note the two battery configurations are different. In the glider version it is 2x2 stacked square, where in the electric version they are 2x2 end to end.
The RX battery is needed for the electic vesion due to the servo count which is typically more than most ESC BEC's can handle. Another option would be to use an external BEC like the new Castle Creations http://www.castlecreations.com/products/cc_bec.html

Nice try Mike but it can't be. I agree with a second battery...better yet a separate BEC, but there is no way that that shape of cylinder is designed to receive a Rx battery. Also, it is waaaay back and hard to access.
I guess I'll stand by my little brain's idea of it being a reciever for a lead-slug ballast.

It _is_ the Rx battery and indeed it is hard to access. It went worse when I decided to put 5 cells in there (why else do better Multiplex Rx have dual battery support?). I've attached a string to the battery so I can pull it out of it's grave if it ever dies... Multiplex Elapor models are not really built for maintenance :-(

Thanks Peter...It pains me when Mike is right and I am wrong. ;)

Hello Mike, I could use some help here, although am in Greece.
I bought a couple of months ago a Cularis from Europe during a trip and there were many parts missing. I managed to find most of them (tooks me two months up to klnow) but there are 2 pcs missing still and I can not find it anywhere. I can't say abt MULTIPLEX USA but the guys in Germany they don't care a lot. If you think that you can help, I am missing parts 48 and 49 for tha tail. Regards/Panos
