I have 5 of these radios that someone donated for my RC club. I wanted to purchase sim cables for them so that we could run FMS. I am not sure what model it is. Can someone please ID it?
It is an older 4 channel model, has 8 position dip switch in back, two non functioning toggle switches on top, and a 4 pin din in back.
If its too much trouble (ie not plug and play) then I'll just buy the esky flight simulator with FMS. Sound reasonable?
I don't want to spend more on cables for this old radio than just buying a know working sim model.
Thanks for any info.

All Walkera transmitters, until recently, were built in the same plastic case. There's no way to tell the version of this TX (besides, there has never been any documentation about different versions of Walkera radios!) just by looking at the TX:

I'm pretty sure that your transmitter is a model supporting "Zhen Hua 5-byte" serial protocol. It can be connected to a COM port of your PC (if it has one, most new PCs are made without COM ports) with a simple 4-wire cable. Then, use SmartPropo drivers to convert this TX to a virtual Windows joystick. Search this and other forums for detailed info using "Zhen Hua" keywords.
As you've probably noticed already, the quality of this Walkera creation is rather appalling--the trims move the same pots as the sticks; often, after moving a stick only half the way, the signal reaches its MAX and stops changing.
You'll be better off using a decent transmitter with a good interface, but that will certainly cost you more $ than a free Walkera...

Thanks for the information.
I've been to your site as well as many others looking for that magic USB cable. I have heard that you can build a mono plug and run it into your audio in jack and through ppjoy emulator then through smartpropo drivers to get it to work. Maybe I'll try that.
I do have new computers in my PC lab. graphic cards are good, but your right, no com ports. I actually forgot about that, and I was going to buy a few com port sim cables to try on those Walkers next. I guess I'll give up on those as sims.
Last year I purchased realflight 3.5 and brought it in to school. Students love it, but only one at a time can practice. This year I was hoping for a cheaper solution, can't afford to buy another RealFlight game, so I bought a couple of Esky FMS sims off of Ebay. Yeah its not Real flight, but at least more students get a chance at flying.
I have 2 neons, and 2 DX6 radios for our planes. I'll get a cable for those, and that should get me by. They were just a little too expensive to consider when your trying to outfit a club, and not just one person.
We just got a buddy box port and cable for the neons and that made a huge difference. more flying less fixing.
Do they make a cable for the DX6?
Thanks again for the great info.
