My current model is out of 6mm depron with a 6 mm x 0.5mm wall thickness carbon spar tube, and is 12.4 Oz , if I built the same model from 3mm depron and used the usual 1mm carbon wing trusses and a little dental floss in the tail area to reinforce , what would be my expected weight saving ?
Im guessing about 2oz , is that close ?

Weight saving in itself means absolutely nothing without considering the reduced structural strength.

The structural has to be considered
And Im a high alpha , hovering , zoomy straight up person,,,,,, slow forward flight,,,, slow spin down,,, no G's type flyer,,,,, so weak wings are fine for me
Im just building too strong which is just wasted :)
