View Full Version : Discussion FMA Co-pilot sensor placement?

Have anyone any experience from placing the CoPilot sensor head below the fuselage? On top the wing will (partly) obscure one of the pitch sensors.

I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work?

It will work fine. What I do is mount it to a small block as big as the sensor but about 3/4" tall. What this does is it keeps the sensor from being blocked by the fuselage itself and the sensors will work much better.
Hope this helps!

Thanks! I will test your solution if i get bad results without a block...

Cool, anything you can place between the fuse and the sensor (another double sided tape strip) will help.
Good luck!

As long as the window of thermopile will able to see, its ok, but may be due to front prop movement the back sensor will get little bit more IR then the front one.

please measure the voltage at pin 3 and 4, suppose to be equal around 1.6 volt dc.
