Hello all,
This is a new product created by a friend and pilot at San jose California,
We are a group of good friends at Baylands, Sunnyvale and he has introduce his new line of Hang flat which keeps your radio from bumping on your lap or body contact, then the newest one is last stand a simple aluminum design for the radio to stand when programing, aircraft setup or preparing to fly, take a look at his website and help him succeed. I own as well all of us at Baylands one of each and are proud of an totally clean AMERICAN product.
Here is the link. http://www.morganmill.com/RC/rcsite2_002.htm

Thank you for looking.

Hmmm.....
Looking at that *Hang Flat* thingy, you wonder why these radio manufacturers do not put the strap connector in *the right place* ..... :(

The Hang Flat looks like a great solution for a very reasonable price. Might I suggest that a clear or colored "rubber" coating be applied to the underside of the device & the TX neck-strap Eyelett to protect the TX from abrasion. Perhaps increase the price by $1-2 for the added "feature".

Hello All,

I thought I would check in and see what the traffic was on the Hang Flat and The Last Stand.

Thanks to my friend "The LatinFlyer" I got busy and went to work on these.

I am the manufacturer and welcome all your suggestions and comments.

I was concerned about the abrasion but most of the radios I tested are convex at the point of contact and it only impacts a point. I can suggest that you put a piece of sticky back Velcro (the fuzzy side) on the bottom side of the Hang Flat if you feel it's necessary. I am trying to keep the costs down as much as possible to be able to compete with all comers and our overseas friends.

I do however like the suggestion of the rubber tape... Not a bad Idea.

Thank you for your interest and keep a eye on www.morganmill.com/RC for new and exciting products for the RC community.

And thanks again to my friend The Latinflyer - see you at the field!!

Cheers!

Quality looks very good but just one question about "last stand". 2.4GHz device manufacturers avoid putting large metal objects near antenna. Jim Drew from XPS told to remove the original antenna even if it is disconnected from antenna base. Could this stand be a problem for a 2.4GHz radio?

GLM:

Looking at the photos, it does not appear the Hang Flat will work on a Multiplex EVO since the attachment ring on the MPX is smaller, more toward the top of the Tx, and the ring is turned 90 degrees to the Asian radios.

Have you tested it on an EVO or do you have a version for it?

Because it would have meant re-tooling to build an entire new case to compensate for the loss of counter-balance from that long 72mhz antenna. As a result, the new 2.4 radios would have cost more and (in the case of my still-waiting-for X9303) been delayed even longer!

Hello Kema,

I'm sorry I do not know the answer to your question. I would be glad to know your test results.

Hello FoamCrusher,

I will check with a friend at the field who has an Evo and if it can't adapt I will make a new version with a rotated slot and perhaps longer. It has been installed on radios with 90 degree rotated eyelets by spinning the eyelet.

Thanks All

Cheers!

Here is a pix of the Evo 9 (the 7 and 12 have the same case and switch layout) and you can see the smaller strap attachment point than the Asian radios as well as the hole is drilled laterally rather than vertically. My calipers say the mounting tab is 8.9mm by 3.0mm and it tapers in a circular arc from the 3.0 mm thickness to the round 8.9mm base.

I opened the case and it is just bolted on, but the user would need to practically take the guts out of the radio to get at the securing nut. It would be much easier if the slot on your metal piece was slotted correctly to fit it.

If I can supply any further measurements, PM me.

Need a UK or Euro distributor please. Would love to buy one, but your only supplier doesn't do international delivery.

Could sell half a dozen of these alone to my friends with 2.4Gigglehertz sets...

Hello Kev,

We have a new international shipping - stocking distributor at a local hobby shop. He is all setup to ship internationally which will probably get you the Hang Flat the quickest. Let me know how the transaction goes and if you are satisfied - it's important to me.

Here is the contact information:

I look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you for your patience.

Hello Aman,

The Hang Flats were developed with the Spektrum in mind as they have a short antenna and needed to move the COG. In subsequent field trials it turns out they work on other radios as well with an eyelet of 1/8"x3/8".

"The Last Stand" fits radios with a .196 dia. carry handle. If the handle is thinner by a few thousandths add a piece of scotch tape.

Thanks for your interest!

I got my (first) dozen Hang Flats today and man-o-man that was fast. payed on yesrterday morning and got them today at 2 ( when the mail arrived

they fit like a glove and really help the over all "feel" of the tx. gives the DX7 or DX6 that good solid "feel" of a high dollar TX.

very thick alum. and set in just a way that the power switch is very easv to get to. and it took all of 30 sec to install. what I really like about the Hang Flat is you can still use the factory location even with it installed with the ring hold in teo spots it lets you show the differants in seconds. I my self put a little piece of soft side velco on the bottom side to prevent scratching to the TX. This is the best solution to the cheap "feel" in the DX7 or DX6.
I will be getting in touch with you Gary I think this product need more coverage more ppl need this and just don't know it's aval.

Hi all,

And No_Gassers!

Thanks for the great reception! I am hoping all your friends like them as well.

Those of you with an EVO Tx can use them also. I had a look inside one yesterday at the field. There is a nut you can get a wrench on in sight. It's an aircraft nut with nylon insert. This will facilitate turning the eyelet 90 degrees so the stock Hang Flat will work.

Thanks Again No_Gassers! :D
