Uh, seems to me that was in Model Aviation or AAM. If that is the case, AMA will likely have that plan for a reasonable price...

Are you looking for the 'Nomad" the "StarCruiser" or the Cox "Flying Saucer"? I have never seen plans for a free flight "saucer" like this but it wouldn't be hard to work up in foam.

i'm looking for the top pic, the other three are what this guy brought after seeing it.
heres one from the nats weekend, and i've contacted the guy in blue in regards to a plan, he's asking his old man, whos flying it.

That's some cool video, cool saucer designs as well. It has me thinking, what if we had a weight on the bottom off center to control the pitch of the disc, have that connected to an arm hooked mounted to the center on a pivot, this should in essense move it past freeflight into RC power since you'll then be able to hook up an RX to it.

I KNOW there are plans for a saucer or two in my library, but it is too hot out there to look! Bring this up again in October...

There was guy flying one of these last time I was at Old Warden earlier this year. It gained a great deal of height while under power but the glide was akin to a bunch of keys  (which you would expect). It’s probably the ideal free flight model to fly on windy days, also very little chance of it being lost to a thermal. It did however keep us guessing as to where it was going to fall to earth.
No photos or videos unfortunately.

I've flown the cox UFO and they do great. Much better that the thing in the video. It was especially cool if no one knows your sending it up.
About 200-300' up. Fun with glow sticks at night. Very robust as we just kept sending it up all night :D
Have also found FF models out in the desert in Calif.
Just a 049 in a coffee can with fins mounded to the outside.
Must have flown well enough for the owners to lose it :)
This looks like a challange
