For those concerned about the frightening abilities of a 17 year-old student, whose thread has mysteriously disappeared, here are some pictures to put his work in perspective compared to what is being done "Over there".

Or If they really wanted them they could just buy it from the russians,
maybe something like this:

There are more menacing things in this world than boys with toys.

I think the Ababil was also being manufactured in Pakistan and is actually Chinese Technology.

I believe that the "Ababil" was a rip-off from an original design of mine for Asvec Ltd, (I was aerodynamics director) which went through several mods including increase in aspect ratio.( Picture accompanies this.) Similarly the "Saeghe" was derived from a Meggit target drone which was also operated at the Lark Hill facility, (Salisbury plain) by Serco. Several WAM flat twin engines, and Norton Nr 71 Wankel rotary engines used to power these target drones went missing and turned up in Iran at the time. Interesting stories circulated shortly afterwards about a certain company director entering the country after a trip there with an unexplainable large bag of cash, and shortly afterwards leaving again for points unknown.( At the time the UAV industry was a small world where everybody knew nearly everyone, and what was what!) The Q1 bears a remarkable resemblance to the Swiss "Ranger" UAV dating from the same period, don't you think? Application to me by PM could elicit even more specific information for those interested; a public posting could result in libel actions.

I think the Iranian thread just moved (I think because of cross posting).
Here is the other thread for those interested.

Funny how the pictures from the other side are always of technology and the pictures from the American side are always of fat guys watching plasma TV's and eating hot dogs in camp Haliburton.

As someone who works on military UAVs for the US governent and for civil uses I am wondering if I fall into the Fat guy watching TV catagory. I think their are still allot of us who work our tails of to push this technology forward on the American Side - including yourself (the helicopter blog).
You are always welcome to come be part of the solution (seriously).
