Hey Mac,
What magazine is that on your bench? I get the AUVSI one, but I don't recognize the one you have. Thanks,

Hi guys,

my workbench consists of two parts, one for building the airframes and one for hard-/firmware development :) .

How do you like that Cularis as a glider and as a project test airframe?

That's my second Heli. I now have two HB Kings and a TRex, guess how much messier it is now!

Hi,

I'm very satisfied with so far. If you don't know the whole thread "Show us your plane" check for _helitron_ there, you'll find some posts regarding my FPV-Cularis (not only from me).

We've been attempting to sell our house since april and have had to keep every thing neet and clean and all put away ... any project that is started get's cleaned up by the evening. That severely (!!!) limits what can be done. Fortunately we just signed a purchase agreement so I can start to spread a few things out again. <whew!>

I'd post a picture of my floor (a work bench would be luxury), but the camera is now buried under airplane parts and tools and electronic gizmos someplace .... :-)

I'll say Mark is the winner, btw what's he got in production?

If I had a very large format wide-angle camera I'd take a picture of steve Neu's "Work Shop, Garage MaJal" it wins the Biggest shop award by amile. (We've has up to 6 people working on project s at once there.)

BTW, the size difference between the 450 & 600 Trex's is much morre than I'd have thought, thanks for the Father-Son pics.

Why not, lets see if I can give a good run for the most crap in one workspace? :D

Picture #1, we have my desk, where I'm sitting now. Both monitors are on my main PC, dual booting XP and PCLinuxOS 2007. It does all the normal work, and the occasional flight with FS2004. The desktop is a general work area that stays cluttered as you can see. :)

Picture #2, is the "workbench" of sorts. It's where most of the tools stay, and where I do most of the work and soldering. The laptop isn't usually there, It was just getting PCLinuxOS installed on it as well.

Picture #3, lets back out a little for perspective, to the left you can see PC#3, a Dell running my media center apps and DVB-s card for FTA satellite. It's monitor us usually off.

Picture#4, pan a little more to the left and we have the TV which is also running off the Dell, with the media center and satellite. The video is usually fullscreen, but I took it down to a window for demonstration purposes... lol There's also more R/C gear everywhere you look there, and plenty more all over the rest of the room.

Man, you guys are neat freaks I'm here to tell ya'.

I use the "FOFO" storage system on the work-tables. First on the front is first to get pushed off the back!

Does taking over the entire first floor of my home as a shop qualify for anything? I didn't have enough room in BOTH garages.

Depends on the size of your house i guess. I have I have a double garage as well for building models and working with messy/noisy stuff. Only electronics happen inside. I've also devoted the dining room table to an order shipment zone :)

I think I would be a bit neater if I had more space. In my 11x12' space, I have a shipping department, electronics development/assembly/rework, parts department, software development, system administration (for the office and home networks), 4 computers & 3 printers, R/C aircraft hobby (over 30 aircraft in there), 4 guitars (2 bass, 1 electric, 1 acoustic) 2 amps, bookkeeping/filing, product inventory, ...

By the way, I cleaned this up last weekend. :o

Oh, the Mothership is alive and doing fine, sort-of;) . I am using it for what it was intended for, slope gliding. As per my tendency to "procure" parts from other AC last week I stripped the rudders for the servos to put in the FPV F-22.

I am also using the VeeTail mixer formerly used for the drag rudders on the thrust nozzles of the F-22. This allows use of a gyro on the thrust vectoring channel independant of the FS-8 on the elevators.:D

There is a Madness to my Method.

Some are hanging off the roof, you can see the three F-27's under the bench in those photos, the planes i use a lot (like my gliders) tend to just sit on the garage floor. You can see a pile of spectra and spirit wings next to the Seawind box. One helicopter is in my office somewhere (i think in the cupboard under OSD packaging material) and the other is on the bench in there.

also as a note JMS - my friends know where everything is in my garage too :P There is a method to the mess haha.

If i cant find something just ask a friend (assuming we are working on stuff in the garage together...) and he'll tell me where its ended up like "under that glove near the cd spindle top" likewise me to him ;) I miss working in the garage on crazy projects.. darn having to build OSD's :P

Ok understand about relax time. Something I need more myself, but maybe if I redid my rather large basement to a pro home theater then I too can relax like you! Hmmm not a bad idea, since relocating my ceiling mount projector, the Paradigms and JR Labs speakers ,my 7ch Denon OR my 7ch Yamaha to a more comfy environment with a pop corn machine and a soda fountain.... Naa maybe not, then I won't get any fly time! :D
