Hi, I would like to exchange experience on towing sailplanes.
Let's start with the laching mechanism on the tow plane.
Position, mechanism, etc.
On my PA 18 is located over the fuselage yus a bit rear the cog and seems work ok.
I tryed also with an extra (yust sperimenting) but even positioning the provvisory connection of the towing cable after the cog the plane tendentially goes up alone.... some suggestion??
I will be happy to see different solutions and ideas
ready to post my mechanism...
bye

I profit again of your patience... how about installing the tow attachment of the tower in to the tail??? I have not seen up to now towing like the real one. Everybody put the attachment nerar the COG. I am preparing a Pilatus which has the possibility to install the towing attachment in the tail (no mobile parts on the way) therefore I was thinking about this possibilitry. Bad Idea???

Here is a short article on tail-end towing:

However, I strongly recommend towing with the high-behind-the-wing style. Much more forgiving.

Yes, bad idea!
If the glider pilot climbs too hard after takeoff your TUG is a wreck. The release in the fuselage close to the trailing edge is the best way.
Fullsize is different...
