Castle Creations is pleased to announce the production of the CC BEC™ switching regulator. This product offers high power, small size and incredible flexibility to all who wish to power their receivers and servos directly with the motor batteries. The CC BEC™ takes input voltage up to 25 volts (6S) and steps it down to a user-selectable voltage between 4.8 and 9 volts. The default setting is 5.1 volts, but the voltage may be changed in 1/10th volt increments using Castle Link™ (sold separately). Castle has taken great care to minimize RF interference.

The CC BEC™ is designed to offer up to 10 amps peak current for 30 seconds, up to 7 amps continuous current at inputs under 12 volts, and 5 amps continuous current with inputs under 25 volts. That’s gobs of power for almost any number of servos and the possibilities of employing this product anywhere a stable voltage is required from a battery source are endless. Ever wanted to run the newer servos that are capable of 8 or 9 volt inputs? Now you can! RC CAR racers and 3D / Pattern guys will love the ability to tune their servo voltage to increase control power and response of their mounts.

Just 1.2” by 0.6” by 0.4” (30mm x 15mm x 10mm), and weighing only 0.4 ounces (11 grams), the CC BEC™ sets the standard for power to weight ratio in this category. CC BEC™ offers great opportunities for weight reduction in smaller models. Replace a 4.8 volt AA pack and save up to 3 ounces!

The technical merits are obvious, but the price is incredible. CC BEC™ offers a street price of about $24.00! At that price and weight, pilots can use several for critical redundancy and no voltage drop in large aerobats with the latest high current servos.

Been waiting for this one to come out and at that price who can say no!

Looking forward to it being widely availible.

Kate, is there any plans for a smaller, cheaper version for parkflyers and foamies?

We need to see more BECs with dual output... adjustable main and fixed 5v for gyro and tail servo. I only know of a couple like this and I use them! I would buy these for sure but I like to run 6v main, 5v gyro.

Kate - Looks good. Do you know if there is going to be an introductory special like other recent releases ?

I'm hopeing so. I'll order four if there is.

The implications of a switched 5v regulator are obvious in terms of efficiency.
All my BECs are linear and get hot.
I have an Electrofly Silver that the linear regulator is blown, and has been removed.
Obviously this will save the unit, as the volts will be replaced through the servo cable.
I am building a Video Predator with upper and lower turrets, so the current draw will be high. 7 servos, one BEC, and god knows what else.
I have already ordered one backorder from my LHS.
When will they start shipping?
Oh, and tell Joe Ford, Skonkworkstexas said HI!

Looks like she is not answering. Three questions and no answers.
