So I'm setting up my new JR 9303 on a Shadow V-tail. New radio and first moldie airplane. These things are VERY cool.
BUT
I'm having problems with the flap servos. The flap servo that is plugged into Channel 6 (Aux 2) moves through the entire travel of the flap stick (throttle stick), but the servo plugged into Channel 5 (Gear) starts to move as you bring the stick down but stops around the halfway point. I've checked the offsets for these channels (226 on each) and the spoiler-flap mixing (100%) and the gear channels still only moves halfway. It doesn't stall or make any noise, just stops moving. And when you push the stick back up, it's starts moving back when you pass the point at which it stopped.
Is there something fundemental that I might have programmed incorrectly? (I'm using the guide that came with the radio but have looked at Sherman Knight's guide and the one Tom has on F3X and see nothing new to look for).
Any ideas what I should look for? This isn't a linkage issue-the servos are not hooked to anything-just sitting on the bench.
Also-when I put the offset in at 226, at full up on the flap stick I had buzzing (stalling?) in the flap servos. When I dialed it down to around 216 or lower, the stalling stopped. These are JR DS 3421's. Is it possible to have the offset trying to drive the servo beyond it's travel and cause it to stall? Again, this is with no linkage hooked up. As I write this-I'm thinking the Rx battery I'm using might be low on voltage (I've been using it to set up the radio) so I will check that, BUT if it isn't, do offsets and such need to be set so the servo isn't trying to move past it's physical limitations?
Thanks,
Brian K
