take him to your lhs and let him select an RTF of his choice. If he doesn't take to it mate; put him up for adoption :D

I think it's that teenage mentality where they think it's a geek's hobby, little do they know how challenging it can be, it becomes a sport in a way.

My girlfriends son and I used to hit the field and I even had him solo on a yellow bee, that plane didn't last long so I got him a firebird scout, he crashed it the first time taking it up and it never flew again, he was turned off to rc at that point, worried he was going to wreck the plane. I'm going, have you seen how many times I've wrecked mine? I bought him another yellow bee, but he just never wanted to fly it, opting for video games and tv instead. It's too bad, it's a healthy thing to be invovled with, much more so then video games and tv.

Yeah, it was way cool because it wasn't YOUR plane. ;)

Sometimes I think I got problems.... then I watch an episode of COPS, and my life suddenly doesn't seem so bad!

That and or watch some poor soul tweaked out on meth try to decide what brand of pickles to buy at the local super market.

My fave mishap at the pylon races is where all planes make the first pylon OK and all pilots are concentrating on the second pylon and one plane goes straight for a while and then crashes into the ground and not one of the pilots responds until the next pylon whereby some guy starts waving his tx around in dismay realizing that he was looking at someone else's plane and thinking all was good.
Even has to ask the audience where his plane went down. :o

Yes, I'm thinking you are probably right..wouldn't have been quite so funny had it been my husband's plane...or mine..

I had never seen a pylon race, so it was pretty exciting. Of course, those weren't the only planes that made contact during the races, but it was the only one that was fatal.. (for the plane) Some of the guys were teasing him telling him all he needed was a little CA... Plane carnage was everywhere tho..

I'm 13 and got a Stryker B for my birthday =D
before that I use to play computer games 24/7 and now I work on my planes and helicopter (not plural.... yet ) and go out to fly nice and early in the morning.
Obviously I still play computer games if I have nothing to repair after one of my signature aerobatic manoeuvres called the "lawn dart"
