Well steve (lewin) i am in the process of building a servo tester so i can run my brushless motor (axi 2820/10). The controller i am attempting to use/control is a castle creations pheonix 35? I'm not positive if that is the right controller i have looked at so many i will know for sure when it arrives.
My nobler is well under way. It is about 75% done. I think i overbuilt this airplane but the more i think about it is becoming more and more of a test bed. I wanted it to be 40oz auw, but it looks more like mid to low 40's. My goal is to fly the pampa pattern, so if it works i would like to build a more moddern stunter. If not i will have to stick with the old time pattern:( .
I forgot to mention the servo tester i am building is the one from your link. I have come a long way from a month or two ago and i am dieing to try my new setup. Untill my nobler is done i am going to fly the new motor/esc/battery setup on the twister just to see how it works.
Well that is what i have been doing i will keep you updated on my progress.

Good to hear you're still developing ECL Mike. I've done very little lately, been playing indoors, free flight and RC, instead.

What insulated control lines are you using ? I was messing with all sorts of odd fishing leader but now I find I can get some purpose made nice thin nylon-coated multi-strand which is much better. Fairly high resistance but it seems to work fine with the servo tester. As yet I'm not sure how well the coating will wear though.

If you have any problems just shout.

Steve

Wow that nobler sounds cool. They fly good gas, maybe good electric. I have a kit of one, but when it gets built it will be glow. Let us know how it goes. Are you going to put the real nice finish on it and buff it out. You won't have to work about the gas and oil getting all over it. :D

The esc i am using is a castle creations phoenix-35, i got it today. The servo tester will be on the airplane so there is no need to have insulated lines. No the nobler will not have a show finish. It is the original nobler so it is an old time design and to fit the era better it will have a simple finish, plus it is electric so the finish will be lighter also. Hopefully i can have the motor, esc, servo tester, and battery together and test it this weekend on the twister. I will let you know.

No throttle control from the handle?
