Seen at an Indoor Show last Sunday. Have a guess. ;) Jürgen

Hmm, tough call. I see a 68 to 84 pin PLCC IC, which I will guess is a microcontroller (can't be much else). That is a bit much for what I think this gadget is.
Here goes: R/C Rx with Rudder, elevator, and motor control. But that can't be -- too much stuff for such a simple application. Maybe it has autonomous or telemetry features.
I could throw more rocks at it, but without additional photos it is tough to narrow the choices down. So, what is it?

Not bad - the solution (rest of this model) has been posted somewhere else in E-Zone already - more tomorrow. Keep guessing. ;) Jürgen

Ahh, so that is what it is. ;) Take three motors, add stability augmentation via a microcontroller, and you have yourself a very interesting three motor "copter."
Must be some piezo gyros hiding on that board somewhere (or the pilot has nimble fingers).

Not wanting to appear too picky, but I see leads on that device (QFP) - just poking in the ribs......
It's the control package for the Tribelle from Braun Modelltechik, a three rotor flying thingie ;)

Well done guys,
The "Black box" is the "heart" of the Tribelle. It contains three speed controllers and the necessary gyros. What you see on top is the stripped Graupner/JR rx. :) Jürgen
