I'd have to see the trick in person. It one point it's clearly a guy. Then the camera cuts over to the 'judges.' When the camera comes back, they've replaced the guy with a dummy. You can get away with a lot on camera. No continuity.

There's a David Blaine video that uses that same trick. He did his usual levitation of a few inches, the technique of which is described on several websites (http://www.howtodotricks.com/howtodolevitationtricks.html) and is generally no big secret. His street audience expressed astonishment and disbelief as usual, or at least the particular audience that he chose to use in his video did, and they were caught on camera. Then a video was patched together with doctoring that made him appear to rise several feet in the air, and the audience reaction was mixed with it.
In short, yes, a live audience saw a magic trick that impressed them, but they didn't see what we saw.
