Hi just wondering if anyone can tell me the difference between a Zenoah
260pum and an engine that looks exactly the same except for the zenoah
logo on the head or crankcase i was told they are made in the same
factory but what is the difference between the 2.

The Zenoah clone engines, as I call them have different coils on them
which are not as good as the Zenoah ones.
You will find that the real Zenoah will have higher RPM than the clone.
Also the carby intake manifold is wider on the clone so I guess that
will reduce compression.
I have three boats with Modified Zenoahs and I have two boats with the
clone engines.
I have had the two clone engines modified and one I have run several
times. It does not have the torque or RPM of a Zenoah. The other I
will be running for the first time this weekend and this one has got a
real Zenoah red source coil in it instead of the clone one. I'll see
how it goes.
I guess if your budget is tight, get the clone one. But if you can
afford it, get the real Zenoah as it will perform a lot better.

thankyou you will have to let me no how it goes. Are all the parts
interchangable same crank, piston, head, crankcase or are they
different is the only difference the coils.

I ran the Zenoah clone today and it does not produce torque like a true
zenoah does. I replace both coils with standard Zenoah coils.
While I could get good rpm up around 16000 with a small prop the engine
could not get up and running well with a larger prop that a stock Zenoah
can turn quite easily.
I need to try out a couple of more props before I write this engine off
for sports use only. But at this point in time, the real Zenoah wins
hands down.

I received my clone engine today and i was wondering if they can be ran
in reverse and how to do it. I am running a MHZ Zdrive and they sent me
a counter rotating version so it would be good to be able to run the
engine in reverse so i can try out the props i have from other boats.
