I just coming back from the last contest of the French F3F league and I can tell you the place and the conditions were special !

http://pierre.rondel.free.fr/images2/F3FVercors/

The cliff is 1000 m high, no way to recover in case of problem (2 planes lost today), the launch was pretty hard (look at the picture IMG_9986_DxO taken 1 second after the lauch), and the landing, despite a nice flat field was pure lottery (lots of plane damaged ...), but on another hand, great flying conditions with a very nice 32,87s as best time of the contest.

Personnaly, I missed one day of the contest already, so didn't participate to the 3 last rounds, to not take the risk to damage a plane. In addition I felt bad because had vertigo on the edge of the slope. Maybe next time !

Enjoy the pictures,

Nice looking (professional) pictures, Pierre.

Hard to believe with such a large LZ, guess you had strong winds as well.

Sweet looking slope!! I love the Extreme F3F conditions--- like the Santa Ana conditions we get in the winter months at Parker!!!! FUN!!

The problem on the LZ is that the rotor produced by the cliff was huge, and the wind direction on the LZ was changing every second, so you couldn't guess where to land ...

Hi Pierre,
simply stunning.
Why no pictures looking over the edge : )
Certainly a test of nerve.
I was flying a small but equally sharp edge this weekend, and although a great slope it became obvious, that it would have been very difficult to mark out a course, as the fastest line was just half inboard of the edge but get it slightly wrong and the model was in danger of rolling in at the pilot. I guess the conditions in France meant there was little need to fly that close. Or perhaps the bases were set well back.
I wouldn't like to be the organiser on such a slope, as good as it looks.
