Will it take off?

Its well and truly underway. Has been for a few years now.

When it went to Brazil (i think) 500000 people turned out to watch it.

Alan was that the race where the pilot clipped the base of the pylon and damaged the wheel pants?

Love the air race, hoping to get over to Perth WA this year to watch it.

Peter Besenje is a legend. Although I'm not sure if he flies RBAA anymore, Jurgis Kairys is an awesome pilot too. I've never been able to find a video online, but check out the Kairys Wheel if you can, a freestyle aero invented by the lad which defies most laws of physics.

Will it take off? I agree that it already has. I've watched two years in a row in SF (See Avatar). It's a fantastic event to watch.

I was fortunate to see it a couple years ago at the Reno Air Races. Unfortunately it wasn't at last years races. I really enjoyed it but I heard some of the race purists were not so amused. I hope it makes it because I for one would love to see it again.
