Hee hee, the rest of the country doesn't get the significance of "eh?"---. :D

You have to live close to the northern border to pick up on that, and have a LOT of really close Canadian friends---. ;)

There is nothing more thrilling then sailing peacefully along in Lake Ontario and have one of those speedy little coast guard boats heading towards you then bears away to the center of the Lake with a manned bow mounted M-60. It sort of like going though airport security - it keeps the honest people, honest by taking away our 1.5 inch pocket knives, with the toothpick and tweezer option while terroist get think about more interesting things.

I have to say those boats would make an interesting RC model - Lots of speed and manuverability with allot of interesting equipment.

Right enough Pat, much bigger ship. I was wondering why she was out of Alaskan waters.

Also, in poking around the Detroit Sector website, I see only one other cutter in the area... and I like the name: Bristol Bay!

see "about the ship" for pix... a Bay class ice breaking tug.

The CGC Hollyhock is a 225' seagoing buoy tender capable of ice breaking. Homeport in Port Huron, MI. The CGC Bristol Bay is a 140' Icebreaking Tug that (during the short "non ice season") pushes a notch barge to work Buoys and floating ATON. Only two of the 140's push barges, the other located in Sturgeon Bay, WI. (CGC Mobile Bay)

A couple years ago when I was still in sea cadets I had an opportunity to tour the CCGS Griffon. It was quite the experience for me at the time.
